Coding for Adult Beginners
22 May 2018 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
FreeComputing and computational thinking are now part of the National Curriculum for children even at Key Stage 1. If you have a school-age child you may worry that you can’t help them with homework. Libraries, schools and other organisations are setting up “Code Clubs” to encourage kids to code but they often have trouble recruiting adult volunteers to help.
These sessions will help you learn the basics of computing and coding with the widely used “Scratch” programming environment. It won’t turn you into a fully fledged software engineer but it’ll take some of the mystique out of the subject and help you to help others learn the skills.
This is a programme of six connected sessions, running on a Tuesday morning beginning 22nd May, book once to attend them all, no previous knowledge of coding/programming is required.
